Socrates
For the "Socrates" play, my initial approach aimed for a clean and straightforward poster that seamlessly blended ancient Greek architecture with the modern Capitol building, symbolizing the fusion of traditional themes and contemporary issues within today's society. After discussions with the client, I pivoted to a more illustrative approach, utilizing my skills to depict the injustice and irony surrounding Lady Justice. In this design, Lady Justice's figure was hypersexualized, offering a visual commentary on the complexities of justice. Moving to a third version, I focused more directly on Socrates, presenting a literal portrayal of him lying on the ground after taking hemlock. Formatted in a modern news layout, this design aimed to capture the poignant and immediate impact of the play's themes. Each iteration showcased a different aspect of the play, highlighting the versatility in my design approach and addressing the nuanced layers of the production's narrative.
